The start of the winter term really lived up to its name this year, greeting us back with a winter wonderland welcome. And from the looks of it, the snow might be here for a little while longer. As you settle into your new class schedules, make sure to set aside some time to enjoy the snow while it’s here. Here are some ways you can enjoy the snowy weather right here in London!

Outdoor Activities

Even though classes are back in session, there’s still time to enjoy the winter season before it melts away. If you’re craving some fresh air, consider checking out one of London’s outdoor skating rinks. (outdoor skating rinks)

For something more adrenaline-pumping, Boler Mountain is a great weekend destination. From snow tubing to skiing and snowboarding, there's a variety of winter activities. And let’s not forget about the ski lift rides. Whether you’re there for the views or the adventure, it’s a highlight of the experience. (Boler Mountain)

If you’re looking for a hiking trail to try this winter, check out some of London’s beautiful parks. Medway Valley Heritage Forest is one park situated near campus. It’s also considered one of Canada’s historic sites. (Medway Valley Forest)

Indoor Activities

If you’re looking for something much less chilly, there are many cozy indoor activities too.

Free time means more time for those creative hobbies you’ve been putting off. If you’re an artist on the side or just want to try something new, check out some pottery painting places located around the city. (pottery painting)

If you are looking to try a new cafe spot with some friends, or maybe you were in the mood for a good board game, there’s a place for both those things. Check out Saga Board Games and Coffee Shop located in downtown London (SAGA Games Cafe)

Visit the Covent Garden Market, located in the heart of the city! The market offers an amazing selection of vendors, making it an ideal spot to find the perfect gift for your loved ones. While you shop, treat yourself to some delicious food and drink; grab a hot chocolate, enjoy a buttery croissant, indulge in colorful macarons, or savor a warm burek (my personal favorite). Whether you're bundling up inside with a hot chocolate, or heading outside in the snow, make sure to enjoy this time with friends this winter. Balance work and play so we can have a great second term!
