Ever wondered what it would be like to work under arguably one of the most influential space agencies in the world? NASA and many other international space agencies have collaborated and formed the NASA International Internship Project for university students this summer. This program aims to foster an interest and experience in space science and technology for a new generation of students.
The Canadian Space Agency (CSA) is currently accepting applications for a 10-week internship in summer 2020 at participating NASA research centres. The application is open to Canadian citizens who are enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree in a STEM field and have completed at least 4 semesters (2 years) of full-time schooling. Each applicant must also have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and must be proficient in written and spoken English.
The internship is an informative and educational experience that will expose interns to the field of space science and technology through research, seminars, NASA facility tours and a myriad of other social events.
The internationality of the internship also allows for collaboration between individuals of different cultures—as interns, from as many as 13 other countries, will be participating in the program as well. This serves as a way establish to strong connections between fellow interns and professionals that could probably last a lifetime.
Space science in itself is a multidisciplinary topic of interest that encompasses many fields of study. It should be of interest to all students regardless of one’s experience in space studies and astronomy. The decision of whether or not one should apply should not rest in experience, but rather in interest
