Things to do During The Fall!

With the end of October here, it’s easy to feel the pressure of upcoming exams and assignments piling up. This fall season can be the perfect opportunity to recharge and prepare while finding some balance in between. Here are some ways to make the most of this colourful season, ease stress, and find some enjoyment!

Take Some Time to Breathe
Even if exams are weighing on you, remember that rest is part of effective preparation. Spend a day unwinding with family and friends or just catching up on sleep. You'll return to studying refreshed and more focused.

1. Refresh with a Walk
Step away from study spaces and go for a fall walk to enjoy the changing colors. Reconnecting with nature can be a perfect way to ground yourself before or after exams.

2. Pumpkin Picking
Need a study break? Head to a local pumpkin patch to pick up some fall decor or carve pumpkins with friends! It’s a simple, festive way to recharge! (Check out Phillips Farm here!)

3. Organize Your Study Space
A tidy environment can clear your mind and boost productivity. Try cleaning your desk, sorting out files, or updating your planner for a fresh start on exam prep.

4. Create a Study Schedule
Organize your study goals to make the most of your time. Break down study blocks for each topic, especially those you’re struggling with.

5. Grab a Fall Drink
Get a change of scene by treating yourself to seasonal drinks at a nearby café. Studying in a cute cafe with some new flavors can give you that extra push!

6. Consider Joining Clubs
Exploring new activities or interests through campus clubs can be a refreshing way to connect with others, especially if you’re feeling isolated by study demands.

7. Read Something for Fun
If you’ve put off a book you’ve been wanting to read, consider fitting in a chapter or two. Non-academic reading can help keep your mind active while also allowing some you time.

8. Watch a Comfort Show or Movie
Take an evening to binge-watch an old favorite or a feel-good movie. Sometimes a familiar show is the best way to recharge by yourself or with friends!

Finding moments to recharge during fall can help you approach exams and classes with a clearer mind and renewed energy. Finding balance and taking breaks by doing some of these activities gives your mind some rest to continue on the rest of the semester! Good luck, and have fun!
